Abstract
(O,Se) and (Se,Se) acetals can be selectively prepared from (O,O) acet als and selenols in die presence of an acid catalyst. The nature of th e Lewis acid and of the solvent proved to be more important than the a mount of selenol used in determining the course of these reactions.
