P. Beattie et Rc. Chivers, ON REPORTING THE PRECISION OF SCATTERING CALCULATIONS, The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 94(3), 1993, pp. 1711-1712
Scattering calculations often produce a series solution which, for the
purposes of practical computation, requires restriction to a finite n
umber of terms. The conventional approach simply specifies the arbitra
ry number of terms to be included, and is of unknown accuracy. An impr
oved procedure is proposed in which the number of terms included in th
e calculation is defined by the accuracy required over the whole of th
e ka range considered.
