We have calculated the spin wave spectra and from these the specific h
eats of CNAF and UUDD solid He-3 at low temperatures. We compare with
experiment and find good agreement even though we also find major devi
ations from simple T3 behavior. The calculation included the six-spin
exchange terms now recognized to be important for quantitative calcula
tions. The inclusion of these terms was made more tractable by applica
tion of an algebraic technique from nuclear theory (Random Phase Appro
ximation) for execution of the spin wave calculation, which neverthele
ss involved lengthy analysis.
