L. Bitri et al., IMMUNOLOGICAL DETECTION OF BOVINE CASEINOMACROPEPTIDE IN OVINE AND CAPRINE DAIRY-PRODUCTS, Milchwissenschaft, 48(7), 1993, pp. 367-370
Polyclonal antibodies against the 139-152 fragment of bovine kappa-cas
ein were produced on rabbit using a synthetic peptide as immunogen. Th
ese antibodies are monospecific since they recognize their epitope on
the bovine native protein and they do not react with the ovine and cap
rine homologous proteins. A competitive enzyme linked immunosorbent as
say (ELISA) was then successfully developed for the detection of defin
ed amounts of cow milk (0.25 to 64%, v/v) in ovine and caprine milk pr
oducts. The heating of bovine milk has no influence on the sensitivity
and reproducibility of the assay.
