Abstract
The authors conducted an electron-microscopic investigation of a natur al population of chroococcoid cyanobacteria of Black Sea picoplankton. Analysis of peculiarities of their subcellular structure made it poss ible to distinguish several morphological types of cyanobacteria and c yanobacteria-like cells. Some of the morphotypes distinguished are des cribed for the first time for marine ecosystems.
