Mm. Vustin et al., SENSITIVITY OF YEASTS TO WILLIOPSIS AND HANSENULA KILLER TOXINS DEPENDS ON THE PH OF THE MEDIUM, Microbiology, 62(1), 1993, pp. 104-107
The sensitivity of a wide variety of yeasts to Williopsis and Hansenul
a killer toxins was found to depend on the pH of the medium, thus exte
nding our understanding of the factors influencing killer toxin activi
ty. We would therefore suggest that the screening of new organisms pro
ducing new killer toxins is carried out at different pH values and wit
h more than one sensitive test culture.
