Abstract
New broad spectrum killer toxins have been found in yeasts of the genu s Debaromyces. The toxins from D. polymorphus and D. hansenii inhibite d the growth of both ascomycete and basidiomycete yeasts. A detailed s tudy of the interstrain and interspecies specificity of these toxins r evealed four phenotypes: K, KS, S, and N.
