A neutron activation method of the determination of Pd and Pt in chrom
ites and products from copper industry (concentrates, wastes and metal
dore) has been elaborated. The method consists in preirradiation sepa
ration of Pd and Pt from major and minor components of the samples, ir
radiation in a nuclear reactor, radiochemical separation of Pd and Pt
from interfering radioisotopes and from each other. The lower limit of
detection of Pd and Pt amounts to 2.5 ppb and 50 ppb, respectively.
