Abstract
The dinuclear copper(II) complexes of HL-Et or HL-Me and a bridging li gand (X(X=N3-, NCS-, NCO-, OH-, OAc-, (CH3)3CCOO- (OPi-), o-C6H4 (CH3) COO-(OTo-), pyrazolate (Pz-), and imidazolate (Im-))) have been prepar ed and characterized, where enzimidazolyl)methyl!-2-hydroxy-1,3-diamin opropane and nzimidazolyl)methyl!-2-hydroxy-1,3-diaminopropane. The ma gnetic moments of these complexes differ depending upon their bridging groups. The electrochemistry in N,N-dimethylformamide showed that onl y one-electron reduction-(Cu2+-Cu2+-->Cu+-Cu2+) can occur for the dinu clear complexes bridged by X=N3-, OAc-, OPi-, OTo-, Pz-, whilst the ot her complexes showed irreversible processes.
