EVALUATION OF THE KINETIC-PARAMETERS FOR THE THERMAL-DECOMPOSITION OFNATURAL TURKISH LIMESTONES FROM THEIR THERMOGRAVIMETRIC CURVES USING A COMPUTER-PROGRAM

The kinetic parameters, activation energy (E) and reaction order (n), of the thermal decomposition of various natural Turkish limestones wer e evaluated from non-isothermal TG curves by using a BASIC computer pr ogramme. The TG curves of 18 different natural limestones were obtaine d under identical experimental conditions. In the computer programme d eveloped in this study a kinetic equation based on the Coats-Redfern m ethod 1! was used. A kinetic compensation effect between the Arrheniu s parameters (E and log A) was observed and this effect was expressed as log A = 0.215.E-1.872.
