Abstract
A new beryllium periodate hydrate has been synthesized whose compositi on is Be2HIO6.6.5H2O. It has been identified by DTA, TG, DSC, IR spect ra and X-ray powder diffraction. The compound is thermally stable up t o 60-degrees-C, followed by three-step dehydration and decomposition t o form BeO. The IR spectra prove the presence of the following structu ral groups: HIO64-, BeO4 and H2O.
