Abstract
The dispersion number, characterising mixing, has been determined in f lotation columns of internal diameters varying from 2.5 to 11.0 cm, re sults are compared with literature data and a correlation : N(d) = 0. 0194 exp(0.267 d(C)) u(L)-0.56 (u(L) superficial liquid velocity) was found to corrrelate satisfactorily all data for columns having diamete rs less than 14 cm, for superficial gas and liquid velocities in the u sual flotation column range (0.5 - 3.0 cm/s).
