A portable program MATCORS, for correspondence analysis is presented.
To help understand the correspondence analysis method and computer alg
orithm, a detailed matrix algebraic description is used. Various diagn
ostic results are provided in the program to aid in interpreting the r
esults, for example relative and absolute contributions, error profile
s, and supplementary elementary projections. A series of graphs genera
ted by this program is helpful for the analysis of the results. High-q
uality graphs are produced easily because the program operates within
the user-friendly Matlab environment. Applications to soil sample data
and precipitation data sets are given to verify and demonstrate this
computer program.
