Rk. Gulati et al., SYNTHESIS OF STELLAR MG AND FE ABSORPTION INDEXES FOR STELLAR POPULATION STUDIES, The Astrophysical journal, 413(1), 1993, pp. 166-175
A library of synthetic stellar fluxes, based on a recent grid of model
atmospheres (Kurucz 1992), has been computed in the wavelength range
4850-5400 angstrom. A set of spectral indices has been derived in the
effective temperature range 4000-6000 K, with a step of 250 K, surface
gravity from 1.5 to 4.5 at an interval of 0.50 dex, and metallicity f
rom -0.50 to 1.00, with the step of 0.50 dex. The spectral indices ref
er to Fe and Mg features, namely Fe5270 and Fe5335, Mgb, Mg1, and Mg2.
Here we present the grids of these synthetic spectral indices and the
ir dependence on the main atmospheric stellar parameters, namely effec
tive temperature, surface gravity, and metallicity.
