Abstract
This paper reviews the technical activities of the Electricity Section of the Bureau International des Poids et Mesures (BIPM). These activi ties are centered about the maintenance of highly accurate representat ions of the volt and the ohm via the Josephson effect and the quantum Hall effect (QHE). These serve as the bases for international comparis ons and calibrations carried out for national metrological institutes. The Josephson effect and the QHE are also focal points of our researc h in electrical metrology.
