Abstract
The rotational spectrum of carbon monoxide ((CO)-C-12-O-16) in the far infrared has been accurately measured. Calculated CO rotational frequ encies derived from a least-squares fit to these data are given for th e range J'' = 0 to 45 and are accurate to less-than-or-equal-to 20 kHz (2 sigma) for J'' less-than-or-equal-to 28. These frequencies form th e most accurate far infrared frequency reference reported to date.
