H. Ludvigsen et al., HETERODYNE FREQUENCY MEASUREMENTS OF A VOLTAGE-CONTROLLED DIODE-LASER, IEEE transactions on instrumentation and measurement, 42(2), 1993, pp. 426-429
A single-mode GaAlAs diode laser has been frequency stabilized by keep
ing the injection current and the voltage across the laser constant. T
he stability of the laser was studied by heterodyning it with another
laser locked to the center of a hyperfine transition of the D2-line of
Rb-85. Alternatively, the frequency stability was observed by tuning
the voltage-controlled diode laser to the center of an absorption line
of rubidium vapor and recording changes in the absorption signal. In
both cases a long-term frequency stability of 4 . 10(-8) was observed.
