Abstract
The controversial role of aluminum in Alzheimer's disease (AD) is revi ewed. While current data would suggest the lack of a causative role, a lterations in the brain and other organ systems caused by AD might inc rease the penetration of aluminum as well as other metals into the bra in and lead to their contribution to such pathological features as neu rofibrillar tangles (NFTs).
