Abstract
Necrotizing fasciitis is one of the most serious infections in the cli nical arena. A delay in diagnosis leads to very high morbidity and mor tality rates. The emergence of toxic-shock strains of Streptococcus ma kes it necessary to make a diagnosis and institute antibiotics and sur gical intervention rapidly.
