Abstract
A retrospective study was performed of the radiographic patterns of th e lungs in children being followed in the Children's Hospital Aids Pro gram (CHAP). The most consistent finding was a diffuse reticulonodular pattern in the lungs. In addition, lung consolidation, either isolate d or in combination with nodules, was noted. There was variation in pr esentation of the nodules, and prominent linear patterns were frequent ly encountered. Biopsy specimens of the lungs of these patients demons trated a correlation between the presence of PLH/LIP and the various r adiographic patterns. The lymphoid infiltration of PLH was occasionall y observed in a circumferential peri-bronchiolar pattern suggesting an association with the prominant linear patterns on the films.
