V. Costesmartineau et al., LOCALIZED OSTEOPLASTIC BRONCHOPATHY WITH A TUMORAL EXPRESSION, INCLUDING AL-AMYLOIDOSIS, Annales de pathologie, 13(2), 1993, pp. 111-114
We report a case concerning a 65 year old man who suffered from a drug
resistant asthma and radiographically visible mass in the right lower
lobe of the lung. Pathological studies demonstrated it to be <<Bronch
opathia Osteoplastica>>, involving segmentar bronchi, with completed h
ematopoietic metaplasia. This rare dystrophic lesion was associated wi
th localized lambda light chain amyloidosis as was proved by the immur
ohistochemistry. This association suggests a possible relation between
amyloidosis and abnormal osteogenesis.
