Abstract
Alkylation of mononucleotides by ethylenimine and thioTEPA has been st udied with the use of ion-exchange chromatography, NMR and UV spectros copy. Under neutral conditions both phosphate group and heterocyclic b ase are alkylated, whereas in a slightly acidic medium it is bases tha t are affected predominantly.
