Abstract
We propose a simple four-particle interaction model to describe the ph ase transition in the poly(vinylidene fluoride-trifluoroethylene) P(V DF-TrFE)! system. The mean field treatment of this model displays the main qualitative behaviour of the copolymer by predicting a tricritica l point for an equimolar VDF-TrFE sample and the thermal evolution of the order parameter for the different sample compositions.
