Abstract
We report here the measurements of single-photon photoelectric emissio n sensitivity of gold irradiated with 450 fs laser pulses at 248 nm an d discuss the dependence of this sensitivity on the angle of incidence and the states of polarization of the laser beam. We compare our expe rimental data to the predictions from both the vectorial photoemission theory and the single-photon absorption corresponding to a pure energ y coupling.
