I. Demian, HIGH-PERFORMANCE LIQUID-CHROMATOGRAPHY (HPLC) CHIRAL SEPARATIONS OF GUAIFENESIN, METHOCARBAMOL, AND RACEMORPHAN, Chirality, 5(4), 1993, pp. 238-240
HPLC chiral separations on silica gel coated with derivatized cellulos
e stationary phases are described. Most examples make use of the Chira
lcel OD column from Daicel, Inc. With a judiciously chosen mobile phas
e, baseline separations of the enantiomers can be achieved. If those s
eparations are used as a base for enantiomeric purity determination, d
etectable limits of 0.1% of the minor enantiomer are routinely accessi
ble. Examples are given concerning separations of guaifenesin, methoca
rbamol, and racemorphan. (C) 1993 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
