Abstract
A study is reported on the kinetics of hydrogenation of cyclohexene us ing a polymer-supported ruthenium (III) complex catalyst in methanol i n which the influence on the reaction rate of the amount of catalysts, the concentration of cyclohexene, the hydrogen concentration, and tem perature has been investigated. A rate expression is proposed, based o n the observed initial rate data. The recycling efficiency of the cata lysts has also been studied in order to examine the activity of the ca talyst.
