Photoconductivity experiments using steady illumination with visible l
ight have been carried out with emeraldine base to estimate the mobili
ty of the photoexcited charge carrier. The results are compared with t
he earlier transient photoconductivity measurements. The low value for
mobility of 3.5 X 10(-5) cm2/VS obtained is ascribed to bipolaron for
mation. Photoelectrochemical measurements of charge decay with emerald
ine salt electrode are also reported and compared with the above value
s.
