Abstract
Suicide attempts that have non-trivial chances of both success and fai lure are relatively common but difficult to rationalize in a decision theoretic model. This paper views such a suicide attempt as an attempt to signal credibly and thereby influence the actions of another decis ion-maker in a game-theoretic model.
