Abstract
Fifty-six isolates of Fusarium oxysporum from wilted cotton plants wer e characterized by (a) hydrolysis of aesculin and (b) utilization of t he products glucose and aesculetin. Aesculin and aesculetin agars prov ided a simple in vitro test that enabled differentiation of pathogenic races of the cotton wilt pathogen.
