Abstract
Four cyclic peptide toxins were purified and quantified from the aqueo us extract of algal cell material utilizing high performance liquid ch romatography, thin layer chromatography, and fast atom bombardment mas s spectrometry. The cyclic peptide toxins appear to be similar structu rally to hepatotoxins from previously identified blooms of the blue-gr een alga Microcystis aeruginosa.
