Sixty six stray cats were tested for infection by the F.I.V. Their hum
oral immune response has been followed for 12 weeks after vaccination
against rabies, feline parvovirus, herpesvirus and calicivirus. No dif
ferences were found between F.1,V-infected and non-infected cats. Besi
des their importance on clinical, prognostic and vaccinal points, thes
e results show that cats behave as HIV-infected children, and improve
the importance of F.I.V. as a model in comparative pathology.
