Abstract
Vertebral artery injury is a relatively rare cause of neurologic defic its occurring after blunt trauma. We present the case of a man involve d in a motor vehicle accident with resulting vertebral artery injury w hose symptoms did not appear until several hours after his initial eva luation in the emergency department. The mechanisms, pathogenesis, pre sentation, and treatment of these injuries are discussed.
