A software package, which models high frequency dielectric heating pro
cesses, is presented. Programming aspects of the simulation of continu
ous heating processes, the mirroring effects due to boundary condition
s and the influence of thermal diffusivity are discussed Applications
dealing with vulcanizing and drying are described. A condition is form
ulated by which mathematical instabilities in the finite elements calc
ulations are avoided through a judicious choice of element size and ti
mestep.
