Abstract
We demonstrate pure self-starting mode-locked operation in a fiber Fab ry-Perot cavity. The laser produces 1.6 ps transform-limited soliton p ulses by means of nonlinear polarization evolution in conjunction with an intracavity fiber polarizer.
