I. Soares et al., ANALYSIS OF ONEDANT CODE PACKAGE FOR THE CALCULATION OF THE DOPPLER COEFFICIENT OF REACTIVITY, Nuclear science and engineering, 114(2), 1993, pp. 160-167
The viability of the use of the ONEDANT discrete ordinates code for th
e calculation of the Doppler coefficient of reactivity for a pressuriz
ed water reactor is investigated. The ONEDANT results are compared wit
h benchmark results from a Monte Carlo code, MCNP-3A. A comparison wit
h the results obtained using the CELL-2 and WIMS-AECL codes is also in
cluded. The influences of certain variables, such as spatial mesh, S(N
) angular quadrature order, interaction convergence criterion, boundar
y conditions, P(N) order, and number of energy groups, are analyzed. A
n alternative benchmark calculation to the Monte Carlo result is attem
pted to provide some feel for the approximate accuracy of the Monte Ca
rlo calculation. Such an alternative answer is important when less app
roximate methods are compared with these results.
