One-loop electroweak corrections are rederived and analysed in a simpl
e and straightforward way by using a set of natural and convenient par
ameters. As examples we consider the ratio of masses of the W and Z bo
sons, m(W)/m(Z), and the axial and vector couplings of leptonic Z deca
ys, g(A) and g(V). In the framework of the minimal standard model, eac
h of these quantities is presented as an explicit function of the mass
es of the top quark, m(t), and Higgs boson, m(H), and of the phenomeno
logical parameter theta, which is expressed in terms of the three quan
tities: m(Z), alpha(m(Z)) and G(mu), which are known at present with m
uch higher accuracy than other electroweak observables.
