String fields can be viewed as infinite matrices whose row and column
indices are designated by the left and right parts of the string for b
oth the orbital and ghost coordinates. In this way string field theory
takes a form in which string interactions are given by matrix multipl
ication and trace. We formulate the ghost sector of the theory in the
bosonic representation, thus constructing the form of the interaction
vertex. The K(N) symmetries of the 1-vertex (integration) and the 3-ve
rtex of the theory are discussed.
