Abstract
As indicated by numerical tests, the computation of synthetic seismogr ams based on the modal summation technique, for 2-D or 3-D media, requ ires the computation of the transmission and reflection coupling coeff icients, at sharp lateral heterogeneities, with a formulation that tak es into account the possible non-Poissonian character of the media.
