Abstract
Composite superconductor/polymer foils with up to 80% superconductor m ass fraction were prepared. The standard YBa2Cu3O7 system and polyviny lchloride were chosen as superconducting and plastic constituents, res pectively. Density measurements showed close to ideal volume filling i n samples. Full plasticity of samples at room temperature was conserve d after numerous thermal cycles. Magnetic measurements showed maximum magnetization of -800 A/m at liquid-nitrogen temperature using foils w ith 80% superconductor mass fraction. No clear signs of possible colle ctive (percolative) effects were seen.
