Abstract
Both alpha- and beta-anomers of tyl-1-S-(Z)-benzhydroximoyl-1-thio-D-g lucopyranose yielded, when treated with N-bromosuccinimide in refluxin g carbon tetrachloride, the same mixture of new anomeric spiro oxathia zole derivatives in which the major epimer has a (S) configuration at the anomeric centre.
