Abstract
Two new neo-clerodane diterpenoids, scutegalins A and B, have been iso lated from the acetone extract of the aerial parts of Scutellaria gale riculata, in addition to the known diterpenes jodrellin T and 14,15-di hydrojodrellin T. The structures of the new diterpenoids were establis hed by chemical and spectroscopic means, including an X-ray diffractio n analysis of a derivative of scutegalin B. The antifeedant activity o f scutegalins A and B and derivatives against Spodoptera littoralis ha s been determined and structure-antifeedant activity relationships are discussed.
