Abstract
There have been several studies of the possible association between or al lichen planus and chronic liver disease; however, aside from variou s Italian reports no consistent association has been observed. In the present study, frequencies of historical, physical and biochemical evi dence of liver disease in 180 UK patients with oral lichen planus were compared with those of 25 disease control patients and 25 healthy con trols. No significant association was found between oral lichen planus and liver disease.
