K. Brennan et al., MOSSBAUER MEASUREMENTS OF THE STATIC CRITICAL EXPONENT BETA OF THE LAYERED ANTIFERROMAGNET BA2FEF6, Journal of applied physics, 73(10), 1993, pp. 5500-5502
The Mossbauer effect has been used to measure the hyperfine field of F
e-57 nuclei in the layered antiferromagnet Ba2FeF6. The temperature de
pendence of the sublattice magnetization was measured an order of magn
itude closer to the Neel temperature than previous studies. A range of
fit analysis to the power law equation h(t) = Bt(beta), yields beta =
0.135(3) and T(N) = 47.96(4) K for 4.31 x 10(-3) < t < 0.7, where t =
(1-T/T(N)). This value for beta is substantially closer to the theore
tical value (beta = 0.125) than previous work on Ba2FeF6.
