Abstract
Moving-type Preisach-derived models computing both the irreversible an d the locally reversible components of the magnetization accurately ch aracterize magnetic recording materials exhibiting hysteresis. Experim ental results show that the derivative of the major remanent loop is n ot a symmetrical function of the applied field. It is shown that the c omplete moving hysteresis model can compute such an asymmetrical varia tion with a symmetrical Preisach function. It is also shown that this asymmetry is due to the reversible magnetization. Additional propertie s of moving-type models are also discussed. 4573
