Abstract
Miamiensis avidus, a marine scuticociliate, undergoes microstome to ma crostome transformation. This process is induced by prey ciliates. The morphogenesis of this process was examined using scanning electron mi croscopy and light microscopy of quantitative protargol-stained specim ens. Several stages are identified and described.
