Abstract
A study is reported of the mechanical properties of polycrystalline ca dmium telluride produced by the sublimation and deformation methods. T he elastic properties and crack resistance of the materials were measu red at room temperature. The tensile strength, yield point, and elasti c limit were investigated over a wide temperature range. It was noted that the mechanical properties of cadmium telluride were affected by d epartures from stoichiometry.
