Abstract
Advances in the fabrication of microchannel plates have led to the rec ognition that it may be possible to develop an essentially new glass w ith much higher viscocity and improved reduction parameters. It is sho wn that it is possible to extend the microchannel-plate reduction inte rval to 660-degrees-C.
