Knudsen's effusion method and mass-spectroscopic analysis of the vapor
composition were used in the temperature range 1017-1109 K to investi
gate the equilibrium UF4 (g) + 1/2NiF2 (cr) = UF5 (g) + 1/2Ni (cr), DE
LTA(r)H0(0) = 168 +/- 0.3 kJ/mole. Based on an analysis of the obtaine
d and literature data, we suggest the values D0(0)(UF4-F) = 387.2 +/-
2.4 and DELTA(f)H0(0)(UF5 (g)) = -1913.9 +/- 15.2 kJ/mole. Using these
data, we calculated the values D0(0)(UF5-F) = 305.7, D0(0)(Ag-F) = 31
60, D0(0)(CuF-F) = 3.52.4, and D0(0)(Cu-F) = 413.0 kJ/mole.
