Abstract
[The following] results are presented for a solution to the kinetic eq uation which considers the mutual interaction of the growing crystalli ne grains in describing two-dimensional crystallization: the grain-siz e distribution function, the time for layer formation, and the time-de pendences of the number of the grains, their total perimeter, and the packing fraction. These results are compared with those obtained from a previous model of independent grain growth and with those following from a widely used geometric probability model of crystallization. It is shown that some of the assumptions of this model require refinement .
