Abstract
Fluoride-directed methylation of the aryl hydroxyl of hydroxyphenyl gl ycosides with radioactive methyl iodide allows the incorporation of la bel under mild conditions that preserve the glycosidic link. The effec tiveness of this approach has been demonstrated by the synthesis of tw o C-14-labelled aryl alpha-glycosides.
